A reflective, longitudinal analysis of Detroit’s revitalization efforts compared against a 2006 capstone predicting a cultural and economic resurgence led by Black innovators and grassroots leadership. This project revisits those predictions and evaluates what has—and has not—come to pass using updated data and firsthand accounts.
It challenges dominant narratives and asks:

What does equitable revitalization look like?
